+ It is estimated that more than one billion Elvis records have been sold worldwide, more than anyone in record industry history.
+ In America alone, Elvis has had 150 different albums and singles that have been certified gold, platinum or multi-platinum.
+ Elvis has had no less than 149 songs to appear on Billboard’s Hot 100 Pop Chart in America.
+ Elvis Presley starred in 31 feature films as an actor and two theatrically released concert documentary films, all of which enjoyed financial success.
+ His two most critically acclaimed films, “Jailhouse Rock” (1957) and “King Creole” (1958), have become classics of their era.
+ “Elvis – Aloha from Hawaii, via Satellite,” was seen in 40 countries by more than 1 billion people and made television history. It was seen on television in more American homes than man’s first walk on the moon.
+ Throughout the 1970s, Elvis toured the U.S. where he broke box office records.
+ Elvis received 14 Grammy nominations from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS); In 1971, NARAS also recognized him with their Lifetime Achievement Award.
+ The United States Junior Chamber of Commerce (the Jaycees) named Elvis One of the Ten Outstanding Young Men of the Nation for 1970 in a ceremony on January 16, 1971, one of Elvis’ proudest moments.
+ In 1993, the U.S. Postal Service announced that Elvis’ image would be used for a commemorative postage stamp.

NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS
+ With his innovative and flamboyant piano playing style, Jerry Lee Lewis emerged as one of rock music’s early showman in the 1950s.
+ When he was 10, Lewis’ father mortgaged the family farm to buy Jerry Lee his first piano.
+ In 1956, he recorded his first single, a cover of Ray Price’s “Crazy Arms,” which did well locally.
+ Lewis was on a roll with his next single, “Great Balls of Fire”, proving to be another big hit in December 1957. The following March, Lewis struck again with “Breathless”, which made into the Top 10 of the pop charts.
+ Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s first class in 1986.
+ A new generation of listeners got introduced to Lewis through the 1989 biopic “Great Balls of Fire”, when Lewis was played by actor Dennis Quaid.
+ For 2006’s “Last Man Standing”, Lewis sang a number of rock, blues and country classics with some help from such famous admirers as Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and Buddy Guy.
+ In October of 2014 the Killer released his first ever biography with Pulitzer Prize winning author Rick Bragg. “Jerry Lee Lewis – His Own Story” came out to critical acclaim.
+ A dozen gold records in rock and country.
+ Four Grammy awards, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and two Grammy Hall of Fame Awards.
+ His pioneering contribution to rock and roll was recognized by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame.
+ A member of the inaugural class inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame.
+ Inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2022.
+ In 2003, Rolling Stone listed his box set “All Killer, No Filler: The Anthology” at number 242 on their “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. In 2004, they ranked him No. 24 on their “100 Greatest Artists of All Time”.
+ Lewis was the last surviving member of Sun Records’ Million Dollar Quartet and the album Class of ’55, which also included Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, and Elvis Presley.
